Day 7 | Bryson Morlan
Oh man what a week! God has blessed me with some AMAZING stories, memories, laughs, thoughts, and experiences. The work this week went great. We finished the house, the church is looking amazing, I’m excited to see the other group take over and finish it. I sweated like crazy, went through all my t-shirts but the one I’m wearing home. Ripped two pairs of gloves, broke two hammer, put holes in two sifters, and concreted my shoes. It was a great week of work. The family today during our dedication had already moved into their house last night because of their excitement. They are suppose to wait a couple of weeks for the cement to settle and from what I hear it is drips all sort of water from the celling and walls because it is settling. But they couldn’t wait, they have been without a house for 3 months, cramped in a tent with a 3 month old baby, a young child and 2 adults. I am very blessed to know that I was able to give them something that they couldn’t afford and was was nothing more than a 2 room shed (to us as Americans) and they call it their home. Talk about HUMBLE PIE! Oh man what a week. The people I have had the privilege in meeting and getting to know like Robertson and Jude are amazing people. Robertson is such a Godly man who LOVES the scriptures and relates almost every thing he says to the bible. It is amazing and inspiring the way he holds himself and how unashamed he is in speaking the scriptures. I taught him “ATTITUDE CHECK: PRAISE THE LORD!!!!” yesterday at work and “God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good!” and our whole group SHOUTED it from the truck today as we drove through the crowded street. The people may have not understood our words but they could tell our hearts because we yelled it proudly and it was obvious that it was about something important! I am glad I got to spend another week with these great hearts form Gassaway Baptist and Servando from my church. Everyone here has shared Christ over and over again each day and it was a blessing to be apart of God’s ministry with everyone. Also I am very blessed to spend another week serving the Lord with my dad. It is a great thing to have a Godly father here on earth that reflects my Heavenly Father so brilliantly. I am a very blessed son to have a father like mine who has taught me to serve the Lord with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength by not just word but with action. I hope someday I will be half as good as a father and youth pastor as him.
God bless and keep up with the other group next week, I know I will.

Day 6 | Bryson Morlan
Today was a great day! We finished the house at about 2:40 and it was awesome. The Lord blessed us with a great day to work. It started off HOT and SUNNY, like everyone was putting on the sunscreen, but at about 10:30 the clouds came out and gave us shade while we SIFTED again. I played with a couple of kids today, one of them I didn’t get his name because it was very hard to understand him, but he was cool. Probably about 4 years old and he was attached to me and Randy. He was around us all day, hanging off of Randy while he worked. Randy and I played pass with the child. Literally, we passed the kid through the air back and forth to each other. He had a blast. Everything went great today and tomorrow we are dedicating the house to the family and celebrate their new home. I am excited to see the joy in the faces of the family. Love in Christ,

Day 5 | Bryson Morlan
Hello all. Hope all is going well with you. Today was a good day of work. We worked hard at the church and ran a great VBS. We has 7 people come to know Christ which made it totally worth it. We have one more day of work and then we have to dedicate the house to the family. So we have to finish the house tomorrow. I am very excited to work for the family again. They are very nice people and are very excited to have a house. Living in a tent for over 3 months with a baby must be tiring. Have a great day and talk to you tomorrow.
LOVE IN CHRIST

Day 4 | Bryson Morlan
Hello all. Man today was a great day! We started our day with joining their church serve which started at 6:30 am and went to 9:00 am. It was long, but I found it to be amazing! It was awesome to be apart of their church service. When they sing, and they sung a lot, they sing as loud as they can and it doesn’t matter who hears because they are singing to God and no one else. I can’t understand their songs but looking at their faces and their hands raised you don’t need to understand the words because you can understand their heart. We did have a translator for the actual message, so we could hear the message which was about Micah 6:8. After the church we had a little bit of a break which a lot of people, including myself, took naps and rested from our past 2 days of hard work. After our naps, about half of us went on the walk to the beautiful waterfalls. It was a long 4.5 hours but it was well worth it. We took the hard trip down the mountain and a steep long walk back up to the camp when we finished. We probably walked about 3-4 miles in total I would guess, it is hard to tell. I go to use Eric’s “GoPro” kind of camera for our hike and it was AWESOME! Got some great footage of our hike and i hope you all get to see just part of the beauty we experienced all day. I am very blessed to be here serving God with these great people that came with us. Thank you all for your prayers and support. God bless you!

Day 3 | Bryson Morlan
Hello all. Sorry about not posting yesterday, if you even noticed. There was a lot that happened yesterday that I am pretty sure that you have read all of the experiences. I was with the people who were at the church and taking the ride of death up and down the mountain. It was a great experience that I am glad I got to be apart of. Today I have a goo day, however I spent 7 hours sifting rock. That is all I did today, 7 HOURS OF SIFTING ROCK! It was a long day but it was for the Lord and that is good enough for me. I lead the bible study this morning before our work site and it was for us and the Haitians. It went good however, Roger had to translate and so I had to pause the train of thought every 10 words which made it hard to stay on track. it was all good, God’s name was praised so that is all that matters to me. My first experience here in Haiti is going great! It reminds me of my first trip to Mexico; hard work, concrete everywhere, great people, and beautiful smiles. Every kid that I see smile lights up my day and encourages me to work harder. It is seeing a glimpse of heaven every time I see them smile. I’ve been taking a cold shower every day and today I had a chance for a hot one but NOBODY TOLD ME WE HAD HOT WATER! So Chase Oney and I took a cold shower THEN they told us about the hot water. Oh well, as one of our translator says, “don’t cheat Jesus”, its all for the experience!

Day 1 | Bryson Morlan
Hello my adoring fans. I am coming to you from Haiti. It is hot! I mean very hot. The people are nice, so far. We’ve had a interesting trip today from the flights to the bus ride up the mountain but we made it safe and sound. I am glad to be here, serving the Lord. We are starting in the morning bright and early. Breakfast is at 6:15 and the first group is going to leave at 7 and we have a 2 hour trip to our destination. I am in the first group so I plan on going to be early. It is very beautiful here. The scenery is gorgeous with the big mountains, though they are steep and I have no desire to hike them, they are beautiful to look at.
Much Love,
Bryson

Day 6 | Bryson Morlan
Hello to all. I am reporting to you by way of "blogging" from here on the camp site. As most of you have heard this is like camping because we have no running water, didn't have electricity, and no cell service. But if any of you know me, you know that this is similar to a regular weekend hiking trip :). I am in charge of the VBS lessons every morning for the kids and after lunch I help work on Kenneth Pretty On Top's house till dinner. It has been a blast!
Today was something special though. My day started just like every other day, nothing out of the ordinary. However, when I got to the park to do VBS I was really upset because it was covered in trash. EVERY TIME we travel to the park, we clean up trash. The same trash at the same area and the trash cans are always over flowing. I mean we just cleaned this area yesterday, and the day before that, but yet it still just as dirty as if we hadn't done a thing. Out of my frustration, it got me thinking about God. You know that park is like my life. God created it, it is beautiful, however it is full of trash. So think I ask God to come and take it all away, completely clean it up and He does! However, the next day, there's trash. How frustrated do you think God is? It's like I ask him everyday, I just can't keep it clean! It is beyond my control. There is no way I can have a completely clean and beautiful life without God taking away my trash! The coolest thing is, just like every morning I go and clean up the garbage at the park, God cleans up my life every time I ask. Because He loves me, and thats more than enough reason to clean up my mess every time! God's love is new EVERYDAY! I praise the Lord!
