Day 8 | Mary White

Yesterday the group went to Yellowstone that was a twenty one hour day. The group left where we was staying at 4am. However it was will worth it because yesterday it started off great because I got to see the sunrise and a rainbow not that far apart. When the group got to Yellowstone my van got to see the first animal it was a buffalo. The whole van was really happy to see the first animal. After we saw the first buffalo there was a lot more buffalo. One of the buffalo that the van saw was walking in the middle of the road, or I should say all of the road. Also got to see an Elk and Antelope.While going thru Yellowstone we stop and seen Old Faithful shoot up in the air that was nice to see. Also to end yesterday I also got to see the sun set. So what other way to have a day off to see all of that to start and fisted. To start off the day I was at VBS. I ask one kid when her Birthday was and she was seven she didn’t know when her birthday was. Then I notice that one of the kids has a bracelets however it was a top of a stuff can that really surprised me that she called that a bracelets. After VBS I went to the church for lunch there was a vendor that was seat up to sell smoothies, coffee, lunch, and breakfast. The whole week we got smoothies from the vendor in return of that she wanted to do something for use so she made all of lunch. The lunch was very good it was hotdogs and baked beans. I told them thank you and I got a smoothie from Her and her husband the husband taught me a crow word and it was a hoe’ it’s means thank you in crow. After lunch some of us went to Kenny’s house to put screws in the new house floor. That job went by really fast then came back to the Cabins. Tonight Kenny’s sister is going to make us Indian tacos for dinner . I have to say this is something I looked forward to all week. I am so looking forward to see what tomorrows holds for me to see or due.

Today I was back at the church moving rocks the great news is we finished the job rock job. After we got done it was hard to believe the job was done, because there was a lot of rocks to move at the begin. However the rock moving had a plus to it because I got a great work out why I say that I got to work muscles that i haven't worked for a lot time. I know tomorrow morning I will be sore but it will be all worth it because I know I help to get the job done.

Day 5 | Mary White

Today was a very great day. I stared the day by picking up trash in the park with our whole group. After the park I went to the church to move a lot of rocks, after the rocks was moved once. We had to move them again on a back tarp to make the grass not grow. I have to say moving rocks sounds easy but its not because there was a lot more rocks to move then what Bill, Lloyd, and Micky thought. However it was a great time to work with everyone and get to use every muscles in my body but that is a good thing because I am getting a work out that I needed a long time ago.

Day 4 | Mary White

Today was out first full day in Montana. We attended church and had communion. There communion is a lot different from ours back at home instead of having it together. We had communion by our self also had to walk up to get it, however it was very nice to have communion a different way. Also there church family was very friendly and welcoming to have us there. After church we went to get some lunch some of us ate at pizza hut , at this pizza hut today there was only one person getting table and fixing the food. I order a pasta and a salad I got my salad but I never got my pasta so for lunch I was very blessed that some of the group shared there food with me. I didn't have to pay for my lunch. However there was one great thing that happen some of us took a trip to Yellow Tail Dam it was very beauty I took a lot of pictures can't wait to show you'll when I get back. Day 7 | Mary White

Hello everyone. Today is our last day in Haiti and I really wish that I could say another week, but I can’t. This week has be a great week made some new Haitian friends and so great memories. Today was a house dedication the family was so very thankful that we came to help them. The family couldn't say thank you enough. I could tell they was very thankful ,because they stay in the house last night usually they can’t say in the house for seven days . Our translates was great all three of them stay and talk to all of us for most of the day, They really didn't have to. The best part of the day I got to see the child that I am sponsoring. She has not change that much but I got to learn that she has two brothers and one sister. I really thought I would not get to see her I was so happy when they told me that I could see her. What we did was played on the playground that we built two years ago. It sounds like she never went to it so I was really happy that I got to spent some of my day with her. We also got to eat at Mountain Maid for lunch and I got the steak sandwich it was not like the ones that we have in the states, also we got to have home made ice cream desserts. There is some much I could tell you all but it will take to long.

Hello everyone. Today I was at the church sight and I got to play with kids all day. There were 6 kids that got saved today at VBS. While leaving the church sight it looks like it was going to rain it didn’t but the really cool part was driving thru the rains clouds. I am glad someone else was driving, because I couldn’t see the road, going thru the clouds was a little chill. Tomorrow I get to see my child that I have not seen for two years, really looks forward to it. We are going to eat at mountain maid tomorrow for lunch. Talk to you all later.

Hello everyone! Today was another great day! I went to the church sight also helped with VBS and great new 7 kids got saved today. The kids that was at VBS Saturday had there crafts with them. It was so great to see them with their crafts and the big smiles on their face. There smiles will light up a room and if it don’t make you smile there is something wrong with you. Hello everyone today was an easy day. Went to church at 630 and got out of church at 9. Church service was a lot different than our church. Their church had 30 minutes pray. Close to the end of service the church was pack. I came back and took naps off and on. It is raining tonight so it will be really fun going to the church sight in the morning. Looking forward to what I will be doing tomorrow

Hello everyone hope everyone had a great day. Today was the second day of work. I went to the church sight got to ride in a truck again but this was nothing compared to yesterday because we had to cross an old creak, but it is nothing like our creaks at home. The roads are not like home to, however there are some parts are, but we would take four-wheeler on. I road in the back of the truck for at least two hours but I had to stand the whole time and it was really hard going up the hills to get to the church. When we got to the church sight there was so many kids there so there was a lot of down time because we was wanting on what to do there was some of us got to play with the kids. I also got to do VBS that was great it was a lot different than home. We had a hundred and we had to turn kids away because we could only have one hundred kids. We play duck duck goose and they love that games. This trip is hurting ever part of my body so this is a lot a different from last year. Tonight for dinner we had freedom soup that one of the things was looking forward to before coming down and we also had fresh mango for dinner. Looking forward to tomorrow to go to church so I will talk to you all later.

Hello everyone! So glad I get to be a part of something great. The first day of work was great, yes it is over. Before our team left we got to have Bible study with the Haitian. They were so happy that we came to help their culture. How we got to our side was to get in a big truck and we had to stand all the way to our sight. Our team start the house. We packed all of the blocks from the road we had to thru a corn patch. There were some people that threw the blocks but there were some of us that didn’t. I got to shift sand not the fine sand the other for the cement that was a hard job in itself, however the most of the day I carry the block I carry two blocks at a time it was not that bad. The family that we were built the house for the family had two kids one was a 3 mouth old baby and a 4 year old girl. The family was staying in a small tent in there corn patch. The family house was burn down 3 months ago. But it was so sad when I had to tell a 7 year old boy no because he wanted my gloves and the same little boy helped shift sand. It was so sad because I couldn’t give them anything at all. Tonight for dinner we had pizza it was great also got to have pop in a bottle personal I think it is a lot better than the states I guess it is because it was in a glass bottle. Tonight I here wiper wills it reminds me a lot of home. To that’s nice to hear that in Haiti it so great that no matter where you are at there is always something to reminds you of home. Can’t wait for tomorrow at all to see what is in store for tomorrow. Love, Mary

Day 1 | Mary White

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. We made it safely. The trip coming from Braxton to Florida was really long but it was also a great time in one van. Today was the fight down to Haiti was not as bad as I remember. The landing was not as I remember don’t like the landing at all very bumping but it remind me of home like holes in the road. The drive up to the place we stay at was not as bad as i remember to, because the smells was not bad at all. Tonight for dinner we had was great as always everything I tried here there was nothing that I didn't like. It is 823 at night and we are all ready to go to bed. So talk to you all later

Day 7 | Mary

Today is our last day in Haiti its sad to leave. It’s also sad getting to say bye to the people that we meet here. We got to get some mango and got to eat some homemade ice cream that taste like coconut to me. We went bartering that was different, but it was fun to do that. One of the people tried to sell a live bird to us. The people that tried to seal us thing met us on the streets and told us to come and see their shops. One of my best memories that happen today is that we got to meet our children that we are sponsoring. My child has tears in her eyes it was very sad to see her like that. If I could I would stay two weeks easily. I am looking forward to go home but it is sad to leave the people that are staying here to. See you all Friday.

Day 6 | Mary

Well today was a great day as well. We got split up today in two teams and the first team got to go to the market and the other one stayed and worked on the ark. Then when the first team got back the rest got to go to the market that was a sad thing. We all got a little tour of Haiti in a back of a truck that we all had to stand up on just to say that was painful. After the truck ride I am going to thank God that we have black top roads. I will not say anything about the roads again. We got to stop at a bakery where they bake the bread in a wood stove and we got to test some of the bread it was great. When we got back from the market and the tour we had to get lunch so we had hot dog they were so great, but the hot dog bun didn’t stay together so I ate my bun by itself. After that we got to work on the ark and we had to start to work on a cargo net just to say while I was working on it I got hit 4 different time 3 of the times I got hit by the same person but it was ok. We all got to try some fruit that nobody knows what it is but it was good. I am so sad that I will not get to put the last things on the ark but I will get to see it can’t wait to see it done. We all that are staying one week wish we could stay one more week. I love it here in Haiti and I thought I would not but I was wrong. The food here is a lot different from home but it taste to good. Will be home on Friday.Love and miss you all

Today was a great day. Got to help Logan today with the scripture. Yes I got to see him mess up 3 times on the same letter and the same spot. I was in a little pain to morning from the hike. My hand is cut up some by the hike to but it is ok. Dinner tonight remind me of home we has some chicken it was great. Tomorrow we get to go to the market looking forward to it. We only have 2 more nights here in Haiti can’t wait to tell everyone about it. I am taking a lot of picture like a lot of people told me to some I am. Trey and I got to try out the first teeter totter. Bill told me how to spell it. So blame it on him. Love you all can’t wait to see you all soon.

Last night before everyone went to bed we was all sing worship songs that was great because everyone didn’t have to but they did any ways.Today we went to the 6:30 service. It was good there was little girls that look so pretty in their dress. Yes I didn’t understand anything but it was fine. Some of us took a hike it was a bad idea to wear my jeans because I rip a big hole in them coming down the hill Thanks to Russell he gave me his shirt to tied around me. There was a lot of people that thought they was going to die but we all made it back safe and sound. But the hike was worth it we got to see a water fall. It was breath taking. Everyone was so sleep when we got back from the hike. Love all of you guys and see you soon.

Day 3 | Mary

Today I helped Gina and Courtney make breakfast. We made bacon, eggs and toast. We was supposed to wake up at 6 and my alarm went off and no one was up and so I went back to sleep I was working on the playground and there were a lot of people helping. They were two little kids that came up and start talking to us. I am a little sore today I carried the wood that people was cutting. Tomorrow we are going to be taking a hike and going to church. Our cook that we have started at lunch time and goes until dinner is done. Today I think we are having some soup. While last night we had a storm and I didn’t hear it at all because I was sleeping. Today was a great day got to see a lot of different pants today. Yes I pulled weeds all day but it was nice. I was just thinking about how much I pull weeds at the house so it made me fell like I was home. Dinner tonight was great there was a man that talk about his life it change my life all ready. Also got to take my first bag shower it was not that bad like people said it was. The work day was nice got a lot of thing done before the rain came in. The night to me is a little cold but if you know me I am cold all the time. Eladio I hope you had a great birthday.
