Day 14 | Holden

We have finally finished the ark completely!!! Like in Jerry’s blog its raining really hard right now so hopefully we will have thunder in the clouds! I just had to run outside to go take a shower but when I got there all I needed was a little bit of soap and shampoo. ☺ We went bartering today and I got a small machete and 3 bottles of pop. I gave Brent Dittman bubble gum flavored pop and I had two limeonades which is the best soda ever and anywhere! Me and Tiara also got to meet our child that we are sponsoring and his name is Smiley. At first he was shy but after we went down the silver slide his name had the best meaning ever. Mom has pictures and Eric has video on our website. I have already realized this but I wanted to share it with you. Haiti is a God thirsty country and I would LOVE it if everywhere was just like here. Like Bill said today 40 people can change the world for the better but I can all only start on one person. That person is us. God bless you all!

Day 11 | Holden

Today was another great day. We went to church this mourning then took a hike down into the vally and back up. I really don’t have much to say other than I had a great time.

Day 10 | Holden

God bless Haiti!!! I’ve fallen in love with this country. The people are wonderful and I love to play with the kids. I was asked to start weeding the little garden in front of the ark(behind Eric’s 30 second camera) and a Haitian man came up to me and started having a conversation. After a while mom was invited to the conversation. We started talking about flowers and I learned flowers are one of his favorite things. His name is James and he had his friends son with him, Sean-Sean.(Shawn-Shawn is how its pronounced.) Well my mom went with James and prayed together. Read my mom’s (Shawn Hunter’s) blog to find out more. Well me and Brent Dittman stayed behind and talked to Sean-Sean. He only spoke French-Kriol so we had Johnny translate for us. We told stories of Noah’s Ark, In the Beginning, Adam and Eve, and Daniel in the Lions den. After “story time” I toke him onto the red swirly slide. His little face lit up when he came to the bottom. ☺ Then we went to the little kids playground next to the ark. Of course my mother took pictures so ask her for them. I also learned some French-Kriol myself and that’s how I’m going to end my blog by saying “Jayzi raymay ou” (Jesus loves you!!!)

Day 9 | Holden

This has been the most incredible day. This mourning we of course woke up then went to the playground ark. I started out by chiseling the rounded parts on the middle of a board for the see-saw to move onto. The playground ties in with the zoo right across the street which I also went to today before breakfast. They have chicken, dove , a duck, two goats, two guises, and a python. The entire playground just amazes me; I cannot believe what we accomplished so far. This is truly amazing!!

Day 8 | Holden

Today’s experience has been… different. We flew to port-a-prince and rode in the most “comfy” ride the our staying place. I met an new friend today also. His name is Johnny. Its been really cool here in Hatai and I know I will love the next week in Hatai.
