Day 8 | Jack Friend

Hot and dry in montana, on the way to work this morning I saw a bull frog with chap lips. It did sprinkle one evening but not enough to settle the dust. Someone said it was 109 but after 100 who’s counting.Everyone is drinking a lot of water which is good. I had a short day, we had finished up some work at the church and we brought the equipment back to the camp area.Enjoying meeting all the new people and beginning able to share Christ with some of them. Still cant wait to get back home, missing someone very much.

Day 6 | Jack Friend

Tonight starts the count down. Today was the last day of work for the ones who are going home on Thursday. The house we were building has been completed. We meet with the family tomorrow for a house dedication. Going up the mountain for lunch. The church we’ve been working on will probably be completed next week by the group that comes in to replace us that are going home. It’s late soon I’ll turn in for now. I have to get to bed and to sleep before the ladies get to bed and to sleep. They snore so loud they keep us men folk awake.

Day 3 | Jack Friend

Things are going well here in Haiti. One of our projects is a church. It’s about 15 miles across the mountain. The elevation here where we’re is at 4300 ft. And I’d say it’s another 2000 to 2500 ft. to the low gap we cross over. It took us 1 ½ hrs. to get there. The other project is building a house which is actually here in the city. The family lost their home due to a fire. We have moved along well on both. Should be completed by Wednesday. Hard work but rewarding. God has opened my eyes to many things in the short time I’ve been here. We had VBS starting today will last three days. It was at the church we’re working on. Had over 100 kids to show up. Now this church is on the side of a mountain. Where all these kids come from only God knows. But these people will walk 4 to 5 miles to attend church. God is alive in Haiti.

Day 1 | Jack Friend

Had a nice flight from Ft. Prince. Things went surprisingly well at customs. Once all our stuff and we were loaded on the bus the fun began. I’ve been or traveled in Europe, Canada all over the US and half of Nicholas Co. But I,ve never seen traffic or driving like this. Glad I was in big bus and not driving. Continue to pray for our safety and most of all That through us souls wiil be saved and lives changed for the Lord. Also remember the Haiti Baptist Mission that God will supply their needs to get them through the hard times they are facing.
