Day 7 | Courtney
Today was our last day in Haiti. We went bartering, met the children that we were sponsoring, and finished our work on the project. When we went bartering, the people were really pushy and kept asking you to come to their store a thousand times. When we met with our kids, my little girl sat in my lap as soon as I sat down. She didn’t say anything but she still sat there and played with her Barbie doll, which was one of the toys that was in the bag we gave her. She was so precious. I’m so glad I came on this trip and I really don’t want to leave. All the people I met are so welcoming including the group I came with. I’m going to miss all of the people and I’m definitely coming back next summer. I have made so many friends here and I’m really going to miss it.

Day 6 | Courtney
Today was a great day. We went to the market and this guy followed us the whole time. We finished a lot of the work on the ark. It was a pretty fun day. I really don’t want to go home and I wish I could stay here forever.

Day 4 | Courtney
Today we went to a 6 am church service and went for a hike to see some waterfalls. The church service was in no English other than when we sang someone Happy Birthday. When we went on the hike, we were supposed to go to five different water falls but we only made it to one. The hike was crazy. We had to slide of this really steep mountain and we all pretty much have scratches all over us. On the way back we had to walk up a different side of the mountain. It was interesting. It was a really good day. Happy Father’s day dad, Love you.

Day 3 | Courtney
Today was our second day working and we made a lot of progress. We had a great day and had great weather. I got to interact with some of the kids and that was really cool. Today was a great day!
Day 2 | Courtney
Today was our first day of working. We started building the playground. We pulled weeds from a garden and carried wood up the hills. Quinn and I spray painted barrels and some of each other. Over all it was a really good day!

Day 1 | Courtney Freeman
Today we landed in Port-au-Prince. It’s our first day in Haiti and it is amazing here. The mountains are gorgeous and huge. The roads are all dirt and everything in the compound is very clean. Today we walked through a garden and the zoo. Here in the zoo, they have two goats, birds, a peacock, and rabbits. We have a cook, Mary Lou, she’s great. For dinner, we had lasagna, homemade bread, and salad. We also had cake! We’ve played games and had a really great time so far. Tomorrow we start digging the holes for the playground. I’m so excited to be in Haiti. It’s beautiful here. The driving here is insane. I’m honestly still shocked that we didn’t hit anyone, but we didn’t so it’s all good! I miss you Dad and Josh! Love you guys and I’ll see you soon!
