Day 7 | John
Today was our last day here and it makes me sad that I can’t stay longer. It has been a wonderful week serving the LORD. We made lots of progress and had fun too. This has been the best mission trip I have ever been on. Grandma, grandpa, and William I love you guys and I’ll see you Friday.

Day 6 | John
Today was a great day. First we went to the market, and Mickey was very popular with the ladies. At the market we had to buy an item from a certain place, then we rode to a different place so we could see how far the place was from the market. It’s amazing how far the people walked to make around $7. Then we came back and worked on the boat the rest of the day. I realized today that my time here is growing very short, I wish I could stay longer. It has been an eye opening experience for me. Grandma, grandpa, and William remember that I love and miss you.

Day 5 | John
Today was a rough day. I started the day digging a ditch with a group of Haitians which took most of my energy. At lunch time when we came in I ate and fell asleep. I had a nice nap and then got to help Roger’s wife with a few things (Roger runs most of the things here). Then we had a nice dinner and played some basketball after that. Grandma, grandpa, and William, remember I love you guys.

Day 4 | John Forbush
Today has been a really good day. Early in the morning we went to the Haitians church service, but we couldn’t understand a word they said. Then our Haitian friend Johnny took us on a long hike to see some waterfalls which were very awesome. Going down the hill on the hike was harder than going up, the trail was really steep and at the end it was close to an 85 degree slope. The hike took about four hours, which took up most of the afternoon, and then I took a nap. Then we played basketball for a while. Grandma, Grandpa, and William remember that I love you guys and miss you.

Day 3 | John
Today we got most of the ship put together and the swing set and teeter totter frames made. We moved lots of wood today, and had fun doing it. I’m having a really great time here; it feels good to serve God through helping people that have little. Grandma, grandpa, and William, if you read this remember I love and miss you guys.
Day 2 | John
This was our first day of work, and we made lots of progress. We have the framework of the playground cemented in and are ready to start putting it all together tomorrow. It has been a really fun day, early in the morning I got to ride a 3-wheeled wheelchair that was missing the seat down a hill, and later in the day I got to push a wheelbarrow that was loaded with gravel up a hill while running. If my grandparents and little brother read this, remember that I love you guys.

Day 1 | John
I had a great trip down to Florida; we made the drive in 14 hours. When we got to Florida we got to eat at Golden Corral. We stayed at a sleep inn hotel that had a pool so we got to go swimming. It was my first time flying, but it was a great experience. The ride to our compound in Haiti was a little rough. Driving here is basically like: the bigger your vehicle, the quicker you get through an intersection. Overall I’ve had a great time so far. If my grandma, grandpa, and little brother read this, I want you guys to remember that I love you guys.
