Day 8 | Logan Gibson

Hi Mom, Dad, Laura, Tiera, and Bethany! I miss you all and can’t wait to see you in a week! As you can tell, we made it safely to Haiti! I started a countdown for this trip over 7 months ago and I am so excited that it has finally arrived! The last two days of travel have been long, but we were blessed with great weather and smooth flights today into Haiti. During our two hour drive to the compound, I just kept thinking of how much it reminded me of our trips to Tecate, Mexico. Mom, you would not have enjoyed the ride up the mountain, but I think you would have a better appreciation for my driving if you were here ☺ We were able to meet all the BHM staff today and I am looking forward to working with everyone this week. We had a fantastic dinner tonight, and I think we will definitely all be well fed this week. After dinner, we discussed our VBS lessons, crafts, and games which I know are going to be amazing! Tomorrow, I am on the church crew and will be making the one hour and 45 minute trek up the mountain in the dump truck. CAN’T WAIT! I have braided a lot of hair over the past two days and am foreseeing that I will be doing many more braids over the next week. Our day is starting very early tomorrow, so I am going to shower and get some rest! Love you all! Continue to keep us all in your prayers!

  1. Dear Logan,
I am so glad to read your blog. How I miss being there with all of you. Please know that we are praying for all of you daily. Can't wait to hear about VBS! I'm eager to watch the first video for this group; I'll be checking tomorrow. Please thank Eric for making all of this possible for those of us at home. I know he misses Becka and the twins. Give him my love.

  3. Dear Logan, I just viewed the Day 9 video and enjoyed seeing you among the sifters there at the church. That ride in fast motion nearly made me motion sick, but it gave us such a taste of the Haitian countryside. It was beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing footage of VBS and the children doing their crafts. I think you can reply here too if you get a chance. I took George to Health South today to visit Wanda. She is showing ever so slight improvement in a lower muscle. Please keep praying for both of them while you are there. You and our entire delegation are constantly in my prayers. What a joy it is to watch all of you bring glory to our Lord there in Haiti. Love, Mom
