Day 8 | Elizabeth Dittman

We made it to Haiti at about 12 this afternoon. I did not get asked by the “red hats” for my luggage, luckily. The bus ride to BHM was actually very pleasant because I slept most of the way. Once we got to the compound, we unloaded and just hung out until dinner. Some people went on tours, visited the zoo, and went to the park. I did none of those things because I took a nap. Dinner was AMAZING!!! We had Shepherd’s Pie, salad, and this amazing bread! For desert we had vanilla cake with chocolate icing and coconut cream pie. Afterwards, we went back to our rooms and talked about VBS and then we had our bible study. I have to admit, I was really scared and worried about coming here. But now that I’m here, I’m loving it and am super glad I came. Mom and Dad, if you’re reading this, I love and miss you a lot!! Also Aunt Ronna and Nana, I miss you guys a lot too!! Have fun on your cruise!!

  4. By the way, don't forget to bring back 3 large bottles of vanilla. I'm going to send one to Mommom and Pop and one to Aunt Michele.
I was able to find some children's books written in Hatian Creole that we can order and send to Berwick.
