Day 6 | Bill

Today was a different kind of day. We split up into 2 groups and went to the market at 2 different times. Each group picked a leader and with the translator they had to barter for food. Each group was given 60 gords, Haitian money, to buy different things. That came to about 7 US dollars. Then Roger took each group on a little tour of the village that they build houses in. We were about 30 mins away from where we built our houses. The group had some real eye openers on the trip. They got to see just how hard the people work and how hard it is to travel. We have started to wind down with the first week teams time on the project and have started with the cargo net. Needless to say that we did not know what we were doing and had to start over a couple of times. It was comical and frustrating at the same time. I am so proud of how the team has worked and played together. Each night they play games outside and have even invented some new games. It has been pretty funny watching them each night. We have had some new problems with the flights for the second group and I really hope everything has been worked out. Please pray for their safety and that all the arrangements are in order. Never a dull moment. Everyone will have to ask Mickey about the market place, that’s all I’m gonna say. It was funny! Love ya bron.

  1. From all the comments sounds like a real adventure to go to the market! I am so glad that everyone is having such a life altering experience. That is one of the things we have been praying for and also praying for the impact that the group is having on the Hatian people. After I read the blog about Mickey's experience in the market today I must say I did laugh but also I was glad to know Vicki came to the rescue. Take care and stay out of the market.
    Love you!!!
