Day 5 | Quinn

Today was great as were all the rest. This morning’s bible study was fantastic. We were singing and dancing to a song while Lane was playing the guitar, and a Haitian man got up and started running around and dancing. We all laughed and sang louder. It turned out that it was his 78th birthday today. I’m happy to say I got to celebrate it with him. We got even more accomplished with the boat, with only minor injuries. A board fell on Tyler’s head that I just happened to be standing beside….and may have bumped accidentally. Sorry again Tyler. This evening, some missionaries staying here shared their sponsor a child program with us. I chose a little three year-old girl who lives very close to where we are staying. Trey, the missionary, said that we might be able to meet the children we are sponsoring on Wednesday. I am feeling so blessed right now. Bill also told us that we will probably be coming back to Haiti next year. I am already excited and I haven’t even left yet. I love it here so much. Love and miss you Dad and Nick.

  1. Good morning baby girl. I didn't realize I was able to send you a message until I talked with Mom last night. Guess I'm not much on technology and blogging. I am so glad you are having such a great time. But I do miss you terribly. It blesses my heart to hear your voice in the evening. Hope you have a great day working on the ark and going to the market. Be safe. Love you, Dad

  2. Hey Quinn,

This is Jane. We all miss you!! Your dad just texted me the website and as soon as I talk to Hope she will be on here. I have been watching the videos and reading about what you and your friends have been doing and it is such a wonderful thing. It is very humbling. I am glad that you are enjoying the mission and it looks like you are making great progress. Enjoy and be safe. See you soon.

  4. Quinn - this sounds like such wonderful experience. I can't wait to hear all about it and see pictures. I love hearing about your singing and dancing and celebrating with the birthday boy (because even when you're 78, you should still be the birthday boy, right?) I just read an article today about the Sponsor a Child program in Christianity Today. It gave an overview of the origination of the program and how it has evolved over the years. How fitting that I just now read your blog post and you mention sponsor a child. :-)

Tell your mom "hi" for me. I'm anxious to hear all about it - you're making me want to go!

    Love you,
    Sarah

Glad to hear that all is going well. We miss you. Nick and
the girls have had a great time the last two days. They have
been swimming and creating a "Country Club" at the playhouse.
You might be able to join when you get back. There are only
    three requirements.....

Take care. Be safe. Love you.
