Day 7 | Gina

Well, tonight is our last night in Haiti and I have mixed feelings about leaving. I can’t wait to see Ron and Nick, but leaving a place with so much need is difficult. This week has been an incredible experience and one that I’ll never forget. Quinn and I had an exciting, but heartfelt day. We met the little girl we’re sponsoring named Richelle. Her mother and older sister came with her to meet us and the interpreter helped us communicate with one another. She was so excited when we gave her a bag of toys, candy and hair bands. She had beautiful big brown eyes and the sweetest smile. Quinn and I were overcome with emotion as we realized how wonderful it will be to help her receive an education. We told her how excited we were to be able to see her grow and to go to school as well as pray for her and her family. My heart has been touched by the beautiful people of Haiti and it has been a privilege to serve them and my God. Last but not least, I’m going to miss everyone we worked with this week. I love and miss my church family at GBC!
